Understand the material
Palm-based triple pressed stearic acid, supplied from Malaysia
Stearic Acid Triple Pressed C18-55% is a commercial saturated fatty-acid grade. The C18-55 designation refers to its stearic-acid chain content, around 55%, within a blend that typically also contains palmitic acid (C16). The agreed composition range is defined in the offered Technical Data Sheet.
Timur Oleochemicals supplies palm-based oleochemicals from Malaysia to buyers around the world. For this grade, we welcome enquiries from soap producers, cosmetics and personal care manufacturers, industrial users and chemical distributors.
A useful buying decision starts with your formulation and purchasing requirements. Tell us the composition, colour, physical form and documentation you need so we can discuss the offered material and commercial terms. Good chemistry deserves equally good paperwork.

Stearic Acid C18-55% specifications: what to compare
Request the current C18-55 Technical Data Sheet for guaranteed specification limits and a recent or lot-specific Certificate of Analysis for measured results. Use the checklist below to qualify your purchase.
| Product | Stearic Acid Triple Pressed C18-55% |
|---|---|
| Feedstock | Palm-based, vegetable origin |
| Grade designation | C18-55; the offered TDS defines the acceptable C18 content range. |
| Chemical identification | Stearic acid reference CAS: 57-11-4. Confirm the supplied commercial blend’s identity and CAS details on its SDS. |
| Physical form | Solid fatty-acid grade; confirm the offered bead, granular or other available form. |
| Bag packing | 25 kg bags; confirm bag construction and pallet arrangement in the offer. |
| Commercial supply | Quotation from Malaysia; price, MOQ, availability and shipment schedule confirmed for each enquiry. |
| Parameter | Unit / reporting basis | What your team should confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Fatty-acid distribution | % on the stated analytical basis | C18, C16 and minor components; agreed range and analytical method. |
| Acid value | mg KOH/g | Minimum and maximum acceptance limits. |
| Iodine value | g I₂/100 g | Maximum permitted unsaturation and test method. |
| Titre | °C | Grade-specific solidification range; distinguish it from pure stearic acid’s melting point. |
| Saponification value | mg KOH/g | Applicable limits for your process. |
| Colour | Named method and test conditions | Scale, cell length or measurement conditions and acceptance limits. |
| Moisture / volatile matter | % by mass, with method | Maximum content and which parameter the method measures. |
| Unsaponifiable matter | % by mass, with method | Maximum content, where required by your specification. |
The checklist is a purchasing aid. Contractual limits come from the approved specification; batch results come from the COA. Ask about additional tests required for your end use.
Match the grade to the job
Applications for manufacturers and distributors
Stearic acid can provide structure, support processing and act as a raw material for downstream derivatives. Performance depends on the complete fatty-acid profile, formulation and processing conditions.
Soap manufacturers
Evaluate triple pressed stearic acid for bar hardness, consistency and formulation structure. Match the C16/C18 profile to your soap base, processing method and finished-product targets.
Cosmetics and personal care companies
In suitable creams, lotions and cleansing formulations, stearic acid can contribute body and viscosity. In appropriately neutralised systems, it can also support emulsification. Check colour, odour, formulation compatibility and the documentation required for cosmetic use.
Industrial chemical buyers
Consider stearic acid for metallic stearates, chemical derivatives, lubricants, coatings, plastics and selected rubber or candle formulations. Compare this grade with other triple pressed and rubber grades against your process needs.
Chemical distributors and procurement teams
Build your enquiry around customer specifications, order quantity, destination, labelling and document requirements. Request packing, loading and commercial details together so your resale offer is based on the same material and terms.
Food and pharmaceutical manufacturers
Specify the exact standard and destination-market requirements for your application. Food or pharmaceutical suitability requires an explicitly qualified offered grade and supporting documents; the C18-55 designation alone does not establish suitability for these uses.

Build your qualification file
Request the C18-55 TDS, SDS and COA
Ask for documents that match the offered material, physical form and supply source. A specification sets the limits; a batch report tells you what was measured.
TDS
Technical Data Sheet
Review the fatty-acid distribution, guaranteed limits, test methods, form and recommended storage conditions.
SDS
Safety Data Sheet
Check product identification, handling, storage, protective measures and transport information for your destination.
COA
Certificate of Analysis
Request a recent COA for evaluation and confirm lot-specific results and traceability for the purchased material.
Tell us which compliance documents you need.
For Halal, Kosher, RSPO supply options or other quality requirements, request applicable, current documents for the exact offered grade and supply chain. Confirm scope and availability with the quotation. Origin documents, export paperwork and any additional application-specific statements should also be agreed before ordering.
From qualification to shipment
Stearic acid packing and export from Malaysia
Confirm bag material, lining, marks, palletisation and any destination-specific labelling requirements.
Timur’s published packing guide lists 16 MT in a 20-foot container for C18-55. Use this as a planning reference; final payload depends on the confirmed packing and shipment arrangement.
Ask for a current price per metric tonne, minimum order quantity, named loading or destination port, agreed Incoterm, payment terms and offer validity.
Follow the offered TDS and SDS. Confirm storage conditions, production date, shelf life and remaining shelf life at dispatch for your order.
Common purchasing questions
Stearic Acid Triple Pressed C18-55%: buyer FAQs
What does C18-55% mean?
It is a commercial grade designation referring to around 55% C18 stearic-acid content in the fatty-acid composition. Read the offered TDS for the guaranteed range and the batch COA for measured results. The designation should not be treated as a guaranteed 55% minimum without those documents.
Is C18-55 the same as pure stearic acid?
No. Commercial C18-55 grades typically contain both C18 stearic acid and C16 palmitic acid, plus smaller components. Pure stearic-acid reference properties should not be used as this commercial blend’s specification.
Can I use this grade in cosmetics, food or pharmaceuticals?
Confirm the offered grade against your application and destination requirements. Cosmetic qualification, food standards and pharmacopoeial compliance are separate checks. Request the required documents and complete your own material approval before use.
What is the current stearic acid C18-55 price?
Price is available by quotation. Share your quantity, destination port, required specification, packing and Incoterm so the offer reflects the material and shipment you need. Confirm price validity, payment terms and availability with the quotation.
What is the MOQ, lead time and sample policy?
Ask us to confirm the minimum order, current shipment window and whether an evaluation sample can be supplied. Sample size, charges, courier arrangements and delivery timing depend on the enquiry.
Can Timur supply international buyers?
Timur supplies palm-based oleochemicals from Malaysia to global B2B customers. Tell us your country, destination port and import-document requirements so the route, paperwork and commercial terms can be confirmed for your order.
